Mural Project: "Classic Album" for Saint Petersburg, Russia
The mural, located in the historical city center, expertly designed by Olga Shiller, takes the form of a forged metal sculpture, expertly placed on a flat and empty city wall. The artwork's elegant design harmoniously complements the classical architecture of Saint Petersburg.
"Classic Album" was created for the nonprofit architectural foundation of Saint Petersburg, with the goal of embellishing the city's empty walls with aesthetically pleasing, non-commercial art.
In collaboration with the city of Saint Petersburg and Ivan Uralov, former chairman of the city's department of art, a unique mural project was brought to life.
At the heart of the sculpture stands an angel figure, symbolizing the city architect. Poised atop a column, the angel holds a plummet on a long, flexible string – an authentic tool used by construction workers to measure verticality. As the wind gently blows, the plummet subtly sways, infusing the artwork with a sense of dynamism.
